Shop in Atelier Friesch Hout is an Atelier located in Blokhuispoort in Leeuwarden. With prunings they make beautiful home accessories with a whimsy touch.
Backstory
Some time ago, the creator of Friesch Hout was looking for nice branches for her chickens to sit on in the large outdoor run in the garden and by chance she came across a branch in a special shape. She had the idea to put it upside down and it remained standing. It only needed a leaf on it, the bark removed and sanded smooth. Her first side table was a fact.
In that moment she realized how much she enjoyed making a unique design with pruning wood that could also serve as a utensil. Thus, the home accessories were born. As a hobby she developed further and further in her abilities.
These are the characteristics of her work:
- Basic design
- Home accessories with a touch of whimsy
- Attention
- Reuse
- Pure handicraft with small tools
Her work has since expanded to include pyrography, designing greeting cards and macramé. Additionally, she also combine olive soap from Crete with woodwork in the form of a gift. Handmade with small tool, lots of love, attention and reused materials.
You can find them from Thursday to Friday from 12pm-5pm and on Saturdays from 10am-5pm.
