The Spark the Movement is an initiative that every study program and every school can join. Their purpose is to leave an impact by helping young people to discover how they – with their own talents and in a local context – can be of significance in an ever-changing world.
„TOGETHER WE CAN STRENGTHEN AND ACCELERATE THE MOVEMENT TO JOINTLY DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE AND TALENT FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD AND A CIRCULAR ECONOMY.”
– Heleentje Swart, driver Education & program leader Spark the Movement
Based on an integrated schooling approach, Spark offers a free Self-Scan. The Self-Scan gives you insight into where you and your team stand now and what you can do to further embed sustainability in education.
As a student of any age it is important WHAT, HOW and WHERE you learn but also WHO teaches you. In order to differentiate the young talented people in this world we need to pay more attention to the relationship between school and society, so that it would be easier to understand the impact of young people.
Their main question is: How can you make a difference in this world with your talent? SPARK invites all primary schools, secondary schools, all MBO and HBO courses and University Campus Fryslân to address this question.
It is important to mention that every month, a changing jury from the Hall of Fame selects the SPARK of the month, based on originality, impact and the frequency with which schools and study programs put their efforts in the field of Circular Economy and a Sustainable Society in the spotlight.
The SPARK Movement aspires for sustainable development and they have several connecting projects that they participated in, such as: making homes in the Netherlands more sustainable, creating an in-depth project to make the WSA common place in education and also different congresses, workshops and approaches.
